Only a couple days left to get Studio Ellie designs...

One of the designers at scrapbookgraphics.com, Ellie Lash of Studio Ellie, is retiring. We will definitely miss her and her great digi kits! But for at least a couple more days, you can still get her deisgns and you get them at a really great discount! Last weekend I made the cards below using her kits with just a few extra embellishments. You can check out her store here

These first two cards use her Shabby Spice kit; I really love the colors in this kit.

Last of the cards from last weekend...

Here are the last of the cards from my big card-making marathon last weekend. On this first one, I altered the white flower with Glimmer Mist and chalk inks, and then I added a pearl and gem combo in the center.

Products: Blank Card: PaperSource; Patterned Paper and Diecuts: Marks Paper Company; Ribbon: Offray; Flower: Prima; Rub-on: Making Memories; Gems: Michaels, Mark Richards; Pearls: Mark Richards; Spray Ink: Tattered Angels; Ink: Clearsnap.

On this one, I wanted to make the flower more brownish purple. Marks Paper Company does make both a digital and physical version of their kits, so I could have just altered the digi version to brownish purple, printed and used that, but I thought I try to alter the one I already had in my hand. I lightly colored over the flower with a brown colored pencil, I like the way it turned out, I think this technique could be used for a lot of those times when something is just a shade or two off of what you want.

Products: Blank Card and Cardstock: PaperSource; Patterned Diecuts: Marks Paper Company; Ribbon: Offray; Pearls: K&Company; Gems: Mark Richards.

Here I covered the butterflies in German Glass Glitter, I like this type of glitter, it's not as bright as regular glitter and it has more of old old-time nostalgic feel to it.

Products: Blank Card: Making Memories; Pattered Paper: Marks Paper Company; Diecuts: Marks Paper Company; Chipbiard: We R Memory Keepers; Ribbon: Target; Glitter Glass: Athena Scrapbooking and Paper Art .

The is just a simple card, after I made it I wasn't quite sure who I would give the card to...but now I'm thinking think it would really be nice for a young girls birthday or elementary school graduation.

So here is my first official holiday card for this year. I guess it's never too early to start, and in reality it must not be that early because the stores have already started putting out the holiday decor for sale!

Products: Blank Card: PaperSource; Patterned Paper: Marks Paper Company; Greeting Diecut: Gartner Studios; Snowflake: K&Company; Ribbon: Wyle Inc; Staple: EK Success.

So, that's it for that round of cards. I've been working on a few things today; maybe I can get the photos taken and get them posted tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by today!   Patty

It's almost the weekend!

Yeah! It's almost Friday! I work one of those 9/80 schedules where I get every other Friday off, it doesn't always work out, but this Friday it works so I will have the day off. And I even took this afternoon off, so it's going to be a nice long weekend for me! And it's supposed to be nice weather here in DC, so even better! :)

Here a few more of the Marks Paper Company cards I made last weekend...

Products: Blank Card: PaperSource; Patterned Paper: Marks Paper Company; Ribbon: Offray; Flowers: Martha Stewart; Chipboard: Scenic Route; Diecut Trim: Bazzill; White Ink Pen: Uniball Signo.

This use looks a little washed out in the photo, but it's really pretty IRL. I used some of the new glittery leaves I got from Michaels last week; they already have the Christmas holiday things out!

Products: Blank Card: PaperSource; Pattered Paper: Marks Paper Company; Leaf Diecut: Marks Paper Company; Flowers: Martha Stewart; Gem Swirls: Prima; Epoxy Button: Jo-Ann; Glittered Leaf: Michaels.

Products: Blank Card: Making Memories; Patterned Paper: Marks Paper Company; Ribbon: SEI; Leaves: Michaels; Rub-on: Creative Imaginations; Chipboard: Prima.

This one used some Prima felt that I've had around for awhile. I just folder some flowers in half and tucked them under the felt leaves.

Card-making marathon last weekend...

I made over a dozen cards this weekend! Marks Paper Company sent me a package last week, so I sat down and played with it this weekend. I'm not going to post them all today, but here a few.

If you read some of my earlier posts, you know I've been somewhat motivated lately to dig into my older stash and put it to use. On these first two cards, I use some older Imaginisce rub-ons. Do you remember these, they came with packaged with little gems. I think they look great with the flowers I cut from some of the patterned paper in the August Collection.

Products: Blank Card: PaperSource; Pattered Paper: Marks Paper Company; Rub-ons: Stampin’ Up, Imaginisce; Brads: Bazzill; Ribbon: American Crafts.

Products: Blank Card: PaperSource; Patterned Paper and Diecuts: Marks Paper Company; Rub-on: Creative Imaginations, Imaginisce; Gems: Me and My Big Ideas.

On the next one I used some Buzz and Bloom chipboard. I think they have some of the coolest chipboard designs. I have a little stash of it, and I've been "saving" it for something... who knows what... but now that I have "broken the seal" on using it, you will probably be seeing more of it on my projects.

Products: Blank Card: PaperSource; Pattered Paper: Marks Paper Company; Chipboard: Buzz and Bloom, Deja Views; Diecut: Prima; Lace: Fancy Pants.

So that's it for today, I'll post a few more of them tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by!  Patty

Some pretty cards...

So for the last week or two the new scrappy supplies I ordered have been showing up; which makes me happy. But when I go to put them away I see all the supplies that I "had" to have from previous releases... So I'm in a little bit of a kick to use some of the older releases, which makes me feel better about getting the new stuff. With that being said... here a few cards I made last weekend...

On this first one, I sprayed the background diecut paper with a few layers of glimmer mist, then applied all of the swirl rub-ons. I love the way this one turned out.

Products: Blank Card: PaperSource; Patterned Paper: Lily Bee; Flowers: Prima; Ribbon: Offray; Buttons: Autumn Leaves; Spray Ink: Tattered Angels; Tag: Paper Source Letter Press; Chipboard: Inque Boutique; Rub-ons: We R Memory Keepers.

On the next one, I sprayed the background paper with a very light application of glimmer mist, just enough to make the tag stand out a little more.

Products: Blank Card: PaperSource; Patterned Paper: Lily Bee; Flowers: Prima; Ribbon: Prima; Buttons: Autumn Leaves; Spray Ink: Tattered Angels; Tag: Paper Source Letter Press.

On this last one, I just applied a swirl rub-on on one side, added the ribbon, flwoers and tag. I love these diecuts that come with the Lily Bee Collections, they are the perfect size for cards.

Products: Blank Card: PaperSource; Patterned Paper: Lily Bee; Flowers: Prima; Ribbon: Offray; Buttons: Autumn Leaves; Tag: Paper Source Letter Press; Rub-ons: We R Memory Keepers.

I used one of Lily Bee Designs previous releases (French Couture). I'm really looking forward to getting my hands at their Audrey collection, but none of my regular on-line shopping hangouts have it yet. So, you see how this working for me, use of my stash to make room for the new stuff :) I also used some Prima flowers from the last release (plus a couple small ones from the new Gallery Roses collection). And the rub-ons are from We R Memory Keepers, way back from their Precious Metal Collection. These were in my "use or lose" pile. This is a pile of product that has been around here for a while and needs to either to find its way onto a project by Christmas or be donated.

Anyway - if you feeling like I am as you get your new CHA products, drop me line and show me your projects using some older stash, I would love to see them. Thanks for stopping by today - Patty
